New to fords with erratic idle

on my 95k miles 03 250 6.0 auto. Bought the truck about a week ago got 2 miles and had no turbo , went back , they supposedly replaced the turbo and egr. Now once in a while but it seems like it is getting worse the idle will go up and down. Today it did it while I was driving. Any help ? - A

was the truck reflashed whem you had the recent work done?....was the work done at a dealer?

are there any codes or were there any codes, before the work?

there were reflashes that delt with erratic and surging at idle....hope this helps some....

I dont know if it was reflashed. The dealer I bought the truck at did the work.
I dont know exactly what they did.

What is an oasis report and how do I get one ?

An Oasis Report is the records Ford keeps on the truck. It will show any work done by any Ford Dealer. You can obtain this report from any Ford Service Center.

crankshaft pos sensor -2003
R&R injector #4 reprogram pcm -2004
replace fuel pump-2004
replace injectors #1 &#4 -2006
recalibrate control modules to latest level - 2006
replace icp -2007
replace turbo and egr - 2008

thats not all that unusual a service record for a 2003 (1st year).
some could be do to a lack of proper technician training.

any CODES set ? it could be many areas (sensors or actuators)
that could be contributing to the idle issue....including fuel quality
and your COLD weather.

a lot of these guys are more knowledgable than me, if an egr is sticking it can cause a funny idle. Try unplugging the egr briefly, make sure the key is off so it will be closed. Then see if it idles more consistent. it may idle a fraction louder and rougher but will still be fine. If that fixes it its stil in the wegr. takes 10 seconds to unplug it and put it back later.
sticky egr also can have an effect on the vehicle when going smoothly o the freeway raise idle etc, did it to my 04
