I have a 2003 7.3 which just got smashed up and rather than keeping the fixed up 2003 I want to go to a new Superduty. Of course I have to change to a 6.0.

There are 2005 and 2006 on the lots for sale or I could order a 2007. I have heard that there have been many problems with the 6.0. Is there any advantage in selecting any particular year?

Also, I haul a 15K 5th wheel, what after market add-ons should I consider with the 6.0?

Thanks

I am pleased with my 2006 6.0 pulling my 14,000+ Hitchhiker fifth wheel. So far all I have added is a 4 in Exhaust, Getting gages on July 6 from BTS.

I would choose the 2006 because it should have the latest fixes. I think they are changing the body for 2007, and you might want to look at it. I like the looks of the 2001-2006 trucks, so I chose to purchase the 2006. My truck is stock, and so far no problems and I like the truck very much.

See my sig.--I have two now and had a 2003 before the 2005. I have had real good service from the 2003 and the 2005 and expect even better from the 2006 F 350. DO the maintenance and have problems checked out immediately. We love ours.

dude one word

TOWBOSS, get an 06 .
4.30 gears and tons of power to tow with, if your pulling around 15k all the time, go with the tow boss package. you wont be unhappy.
mine is a dream to drive loaded up, she just goes and goes

Thanks for the replies. My towing is less than 25% of my driving. Considering that what is your opinion regarding 3.73, 410, 4.30 rear ends? What does the towboss give me other than 4.30 rear end?

Body is the same for 07. Change is for 08. Get an 06. Deal should be sweet for something on the lot. Warranty will be an issue if you go nutz with mods.

Let me say this...I had a '03 6.0 and it was hell on wheels once the computer issues were corrected. Traded for a '06, I then heard reports that Ford had cut the power back on the 6.0 because of tranny issues. Well, I checked the Ford site and they reported 325 hp and 570 lb-ft of torque. Truck didn't feel right so I started checking things and low and behold the truck DIDN'T make the power claimed by Ford. Ford then let me know that it was my problem and not theirs :cussing: .....Just my story for you to think about. I think knowing what I know now, if I was buying a Ford I'd have it in the contract that I could have the truck dyno and if it came up short then the Dealer would buy it back....better yet, have it dyno before you buy, that way you would know for sure.
