on those 275 70 18's by continential -

has anyone thought of putting 17's on and then putting an all terrian on those? My buddy bought a 05 250 same week as me from the same dealer - his had 17's and mine had the continential 18's. I'm thinking of going to custom tire shop and seeing if they have any 17's laying around and switching. I searched high and low for 18's toyo mudgrabbers were quoted at $1,600 for a set! what a rip. Anyone tried anything different, dealer says all i need to do if i change to 17's is recalabrate the computer to the corrected size. Any thoughts?

Goodyear makes a Silent Armor 10 ply that size... good luck getting it right now with the strike on...

325/60R18 is the same OD... I have a set of those in my store at the moment... not cheap... not small, either... these jokers weigh nearly 80 lbs APIECE...

The wheels are going to be expensive. What did they quote on the new wheels to go with the new tires?

Any reviews or comments on the silent armor series for stock tire replacement for my 02 PSD CC? Goodyear pulls up LT235/85R16/E. What is a reasonable price to pay? I can't tell how many ply, just load range E...

I plan to buy new tires in another 5k-10k or so and am starting to look. Mostly on-road, mostly light duty, occasional 10k trailer towing. Thanks!

Load range E is the tire you want for your truck. It is one of the most popular tires you will find.

Bridgestone Dueler Revo is an alternative tire that has good reviews posted for its 18 inch tires.

People will probably laugh at me but the factory Pirellies that came on my 03 are about the best on road tire that I have ever seen. They are unbelievably quite, get great mileage (They still have 75% tread left and have over 25,000 mile on them) and are pretty good on snow and ice. They do not like to go off road though. If it is dry they are fine, if it is wet and muddy they do not like it at all. I run BFG's in the winter because I spend a lot of time on muddy roads and field. I switch out to the Pirellies in the spring when I put the majority of miles on my rig.

RSG... Silent Armor in that size I'd do from my store for just under $700. plus tax

the ProGrade (more chip/chunk and torque wear resistant tread) for about $750. + tax

I put the 265/75R16's on mine... $760 for the regular, $875 for the Pro's... both listed as back ordered, but I think I have a set of each in stock...

I just checked availability, all are on back order (Steelworkers on strike)... you might find a set in the supply chain of one of the Indies (Discount, Belle, Big A)...

good luck.

I like mine.. best tire I've ever had. Saved three people and three horses butt's one day when the trailer tried to pass the truck in the rain...

I've done a ton of tire research before replacing my f250 tires I had BF goodrich 265/65/18 didn't seem to be worth the money at all. What I ended up with are 4 275/70/18 Continental TR's These tires have now 5000miles on them and are a great buy under $600.00 Total at discount tire. If you buy these change the pressures to 55psi front and back asap these tires have 80psi on the sidewall. way to much pressure and will make the tires feel really poor.I have been watching these tires very close they are wearing awesome and have great traction. For the money you can't go wrong. They look good to.

I just had BFG's installed on my '06 F350. 305/65/18. They replaced my stock conti's that had 18000KM on them. Not cheap though. $1700.00 Worth it though I think. They are a great all around tire.
