Having just recently purchased an '07 CC, I was wondering what you guys recommended the first "necessities" were for improvements. I have ordered Husky floor mats, as I have had them in all of my previous trucks. I am looking at several retractable tonneau covers, but haven't decided on which on yet. I will also be going with the bed mat option, versus the bed liner or spray in liner, as I don't need the additional protection and don't care for the rough surfaces. Any advice would be appreciated on the initial purchases to boost performance and economy.

I'd suggest what was suggested to me when I first joined this site.. GAUGES

And when Ford gives you grief over the warranty over them, tell the dealer "Well, if Ford put decent gauges in it to BEGIN WITH, I wouldn't have needed to add my own"

I agree with JL on putting in gauges before you do any other mods. An EGT, Boost and a tranny temperature guage will fit nicely on the drivers side pillar.

I agree on the other guy's advice, get some good gauges. Also, maybe fill out your signature so everybody knows what truck ya bought. Good luck with your new truck, and enjoy it!

My truck has a transmission temp. guage. Which guages do you guys recommend? I won't be doing a lot of heavy towing. I own a construction company and will mainly be using the truck for daily driving and hauling miscellaneous items.

read this to see how worthless your factory trans gauge is -> LINK

egt gauge.

other things id recommend <for new trucks>...

coolant filter
aux reverse lights under the bumper

Real mud flaps. Takes no time at all to install. Almost as little time as it takes for a pebble or some road debris to scratch that new paint.

I have been looking at the Edge A2 with the GPS and backup camera. I assume this would take care of the guage issues, as well as give me in cab control over a module, gps, and a backup camera. Having not owned a powerstroke before, does anyone have any suggestions for which module works best? Is it a waste to put a module on before installing a new intake and exhaust? I'd prefer not to do the exhaust, if not totally necessary. I am looking at the K&N intake kit. Does anyone recommend something different, or have opinions on others?
