We need to take the pooch with us tomorrow. This will be his first trip in the psd. I have put a sheet on the back seat, but would like to put one over the back of the seat. I checked the owners manual and it shows a lever to pull to lower the back of the seat. Mine does not have this lever. Any suggestions?
this is a S/C.

Thanks

My 03 with that body style didn't come down. If the jack is accessible from under the rear seat I would say you have a ridgid back. ON my 06 CC there IS a lever. But the 03 SC had nothing.

did you get an oddball 06
mine has a leve bout midway on each back that lets it fold frwd

however we leave the backs UP
then fold the bottoms UP and fold out the flat floor which we have a carpet that fits good for the pouchie
the seat i cover with a queen sized sheet whgich is held in place by the upper backs and then tucked under the lowers when they are folded. makes it easy for dawg to get in and she has a huge flat floor to lounge on whilst we drive

i will go snap a pic

I think

it's because it's a S/C. Both my 04 and 06 seatbacks will lower but they're CCs. Then again...maybe I don't really have a clue about it, lol.:roflmao

Be well!

Thanks everyone;

I think our truck is like Scots 03, we have the jack under the rear seat behind the passenger side. No levers to pull on the back of the rear seat. Our rear seat, "bottom" does go up to expose the jack, and also on the drivers side. We must have ordered an oddball truck. Our dog likes to stand hind legs on the back seat of our explorer, and front paws on the armrest between wife and me. That puts his head and neck in line with ours. He will probably want to do the same thing in the PSD. Our back seat in our truck has never been used by human or dog, so it is in perfect condition now. I guess it is time for "Luke" to break it in.

Another thought Maxtor

You have an XLT. The Lariat, KR & Harley versions may have a fold down seat when you may not. So don't spend too much time looking if the only people saying you have a handle are driving one of the other trim packages.

what a bummer...trade that thing on a crewcab ;)
we fold our crewcab seat backs DOWN and our 80lb
old english sheep takes up the ENTIRE back...she rode
there almost 1400mi.

On my 02 ext cab the back of the rear seat is mounted solid but it does come out by pulling straight up on the seat. I believe all the extended cabs are the same, it's just the crew cabs with the rear seat backs that flip.
