My sister and her husband are stationed at Lakenheath AFB in England. We just got back from a two week vacation to visit them. While we were there, my wife and I decided to take "mini vacations" to Paris and then to London. Coincidentaly, the Paris trip landed on my wifes birthday and our anniversary. That gentlemen, is three birds with one stone!

Take a look

Cool pics. See any diesel pick-ups over there?

I'm sure being over there during the wife's b'day and anniversary won you some very serious hubby points.

I did see three pickups. They were all 05-07 PSD's set up as airplane tugs to move the F-15's that were sitting on the apron.

The biggest cars over there were Jeeps and Ford Escapes. There was the occasional van thrown in but they were a pain to get down the roads.

Not counting the major highways (interstates), the average road width is about 12-14 ft with no shoulder and hedges that rubbed the mirrors of even the smallest cars. In the picture, we are following my sister in her Corolla. You can see how tight the roads are. Having a big pickup over there would have been a nightmare, especially with the roundabouts. I would of had to do a three point to get around most of them.

Oh, the Paris trip banked me more hubby points than most men will accrue in their lifetime! :tounge Let's just hope I dont spend them all in one place.

On the small roads in Europe:

My buddy Travis, argve next door as OB, had a training class in Germany for a piece of Siemens equipment. This was several years ago and he saw a Smart Car, (this was before we had even heard of them over here). This is when he still had the Enterprise (92 F-350 7.3 CC DRW). He made the comment, "Hey this would fit in the bed of my truck) the locals in the group were astonished and wanted to know what he drove, and they were surprised because something that big would be a commercial delivery truck! When he explained this was his Daily Driver they were just floored that anyone would want to drive something that big, everyday, by choice. By the looks of the picures and the stories I have heard, it make the "Kentucky Backroads" seem like and interstate........
