I would think the only reason people don't do a single carb setup is that most don't have the ability to fabricate an intake manifold for a single carb.

it came to me this morning at work...
gonna have to do a 1 to 2 to 4 setup, and keep the runners fairly even in length, otherwise you're gonna have two rich holes and two lean holes..

remember those Offenhauser dual-plane intakes for the 351 Cleveland?

i think you are right about that, the intake manifold could make or "break" an engines power curve. it could end up a total disaster with harmonics that end up almost stalling it at any given rpm, rich and lean holes,..........or..........it could run like it does in my dreams!

the only other downfall i was thinking of, was the mechanical FCR on a heavy street application.....im not sure how it would react. depending on my fundage and time come this winter....crazy experiments may happen. or if i get these carbs tuned in perfectly, i will forget this idea ever happened :D

I thought of this myself, the number 2 and 3 cylinders would probably be to rich where the 1 and 4 would be to lean (with a single carb, even plane intake) I am not an engineer, so I am not sure what it would take but like I said before I would love to see what you come with. It is easy with a Harley, or any V-twin for that matter.
