you said polishing filter, is it after the wb filter? or the one right before it,

The term "polishing filter" is mainly for the -5 Micron filters. I know the PowerStroke stock fuel filter element is 10-12 microns but not enough if you ask me.

The blend is now in the 30-35% range,once I hit the chicken exhaust I should be 50%+ on the mix but taking it slowly since I'm constantly analyzing EGT's,boost,engine startup/idle/tone,Fuel PSI,etc

Hheynow may chime in on his experience since he's basically doing the same process for his PowerStroke.

yep 1 micron should be the norm, i have seen the trash first hand that got in my tank,
my 7.3 idled softer on turkey fryer oil than on #2

Sorry needs new camera for the wides,I'm still using an old 1.3 MP Olympus.

Everything was set to go for BioD using methoxide but we ran into logistics problems at last minute so we had to put it on the back burner for another year but the good news is the WVO production has worked out better than I was expecting

All the particles that usually fall out to the glycerin layer basically does the same during settling which is several weeks versus an hour using methoxide so you can churn out the final product many times faster than I

Now if you want a real challenge, I've got some Partially hydrogenated from a dive grill that I can send you to play with Chock full of fine sediment and other stuff the customers don't want to know about
You'd need a heated filtering and truck fuel system to use it tho. Gravity sucks once you have to keep things above 130*F for it to filter.

If you want to speed up your settling, use a water heater element (1500 watt 110v) and bring up to 130-150 degrees, then shut it off. Next morning it'll be crystal clear, and most of any suspended water will drop out.

Thanks for the challenge Don but I may stick to the VO for the time
Most if not all the settling takes place in mulitple 5 gallon natural buckets which sits for several weeks,if I have the room I'll fill a 30 gallon drum to set aside for settling.

This winter I'll probably preheat the oil in the water heater then transfer it to the 55 gallon steel drum with an immersed heating element to dry/settle overnight but with this hobby I'll play it by ear as there's always room for improvement.

The only ingredients required is good used vegetable,soy,canola,etc oil. I haven't had a chance to do any evaluations on mileage yet. Selling I'm not interested in as it's for personal use although I owe friends that assisted me with acquiring the oil and building it all

One thing for sure is it's faster starting,engine idle & acceleration noise is way more quiet to the point we're going down the road passing cars left and right then look down at the speedometer and it's showing 85,almost seems like the engine isn't running or someone dropped a Gasser under the hood
