CHP...thanks...keep the photos comin'...id like to see the
raw filtering (via bed sheet(s)).

do i understand this to be:

55g drum is where you dump the oil when you "bring it home"
55g drum drains to 4 filters & tap or does the 55g black drum drain
to the WHITE drum ?

when the hot water heater comes BACK into "production" how will
that work ? will the blk 55g drum feed to the water heater ? will you
have to pump it thin ?

considering where i live (it was 104 last week w/ heat index of 114)
im wondering if i cant to this along the side of my garage (outside).

The 55 gallon drum is where I pour the pre-separated oil into for the prefilter stage.
The 55 gallon drum holds the prefiltered oil (bedsheet method) and down to the final filtration manifold as seen in the photos.
The white drum you see in the photo/s is one of my separation drums,I dunno if you could see at the bottom but about 6"-8" from the bottom you may be able to see a layer of white junk, that's water, fats, food, etc that falls to the bottom during separation, that stuff you do not want going into prefilter nor the PowerStroke.

I have more photos I can add today that'll help out.

The gentleman that owns this LINK takes credit for the bedsheet prefilter but do note the oil that he's pouring on the prefilter as unsettled oil which will clog up the sheets pretty quick.

My oil settles out in drum/s,buckets for several weeks before it's ready to go into the prefilter drum.

That gentleman did a double sheet on his I went 4 layers but remember I pour pre settled so it's clear when it goes in.

The bedsheet prefilter has worked out very well actually better than I was initially expected. New tightknit sheets don't cost much from WalMart so no need to raid the linen closet:D
Below photos of the prefilter working my separated oil along with my first official batch sample! I make it sound like a big thing but this is a project I been working on for about a year and it's a proud moment but takes a backseat to my kids birthdays:sweet

Bill, have you permanently moved away from making bio? If Iran keeps up their tricks I may be moving toward brewing sooner than later.

I've found that this method is safer and easier overall. I won't be running 100% just a blend so I retain some properties of pump diesel that are good for the engine and fuel system.

To date I've been running the blend about 5 weeks which includes a 2,600 mile trip we just took to Phoenix and Los Angeles.

Bill, I think it's great, what you've done. :thumbs

I've been working toward this end myself, started at the beginning of the summer. It's nice to see someone reaping the benefits. I've got filtration setup, but am still working on getting an oil supply. I'm getting closer though.

What blend of WVO and diesel are you using and have you tried different percentage mixes?

Three cheers for the comment about your kids, I agree, I've got three young'ins myself and I don't know what I'd do without 'em!

Thanks,

I been staying with a 20/80 WVO/#2 blend but may take it up to 30 or 40 while the warm weather is still with us:D

On our recent southwest US trip I ran pretty much 10% WVO as I didn't want to push the limits while on the road so far from home.
