uhoh thinking HPOP stuff?

know me that well huh ;)

'course its anyones guess...but at least we can help
eliminate potential problem areas.

i think when you look at these trucks now you can see the
patterns...makes it easy for us owners to resolve...and its really
a testimony to the work others have done in documenting the
issues (which seem so few @ this point).

things really did settle out pretty quickly...as painful as the 2003.5
might have been for some.

No it start right up when I press on the accelarator Pedal, It is just a hickup for now. I did clean the EGR valve this summer and it was clear.

I noticed this morning that the accelarator pedal has to move a lot to feel the engine accelerate plus its so easy to stall it. Could it be related.

My truck is now down, It will not start. Charging the batteries and trying again tomorrow. I think I have an Oil line fitting leaking. Looks like the oil pressure does not get there to creat fuel pressure.

what oil pressure are you monitoring ? the gauge in the dash
is no real indication of anything more than the presence of 6psi (and no more)

Well I left a coil on and killed the batteries, They were at 0 volts, and I tried to boost it with my car but the starter would not even turn so I used the car to charge the 2 batteries enough to start but after a few tries, while the engine felt like it was turning enough it did not kick at all. its high 70's here. I am slow charging my 2 batteries and will try again tomorrow. I feel my truck has been easy to stall, therefore the HP oil pressure might run low. I am still on Warranty and will possibly have it fixed. I have not been driving it much, because I drive my Miata in the sun here.

I started the truck with batteries fully charged. I think the problem is the Ignition switch, It stalled about 4 times before I finally got it going. It happened like that to my other cars and trucks before. Will install a new one tomorrow.

Well its time for more work on my truck. When I have to start my truck I have to keep the Starter run for a while so as to have the engine start. I think I have a HPOP problem for sure. Will this problem throw a code so I can take this thing to the dealer for warranty work. My truck has been easy to stall when I let go the clutch.

dont know that itll throw a code or not...but they
SHOULD be able to monitor the ICP to determine
if the HPOP is building pressure.

also check the oil/dip stick...has it floated up a
quart (higher) ? the hpop reservoir holds .9 quarts and
if the hpop is leaking back its gonna drain back into the pan

the extended crank time is basically needed to re-fill
the reservoir so that you can obtain the minimum 500psi
(to start).
