Check this out. I was driving my truck the other day, up a small grade.
I was doing the speed limit......40 mph the engine laboured down then down shifted one gear as I was light on the throttle. Then I decide to floor it up the rest of the hill. Well no sooner had I stepped on the accelerator, the boost gauge blew past 35 psi and tons of blace smoke out the back. I took my foot out of it immediately because my truck has never boosted past 27 psi. I know 22-25 psi is the spec for the 6.0. My truck has never acted so weird before. I cannot repeat this event, my truck is stock, no chip/programmer, and I'm the original owner. WTF???????????

Sounds like your EBP (exhaust Back Pressure) sensor got it wrong and sensed domething low and commanded the turbo to a higher boost level. These trucks do screw up once in a while. If you don't have a check engine light don't worry about it.
