Howdy All,
How many of y'all have run a light to your tool box and what kind of light did you use? While my cab was gutted I ran a wire to the tool box for this purpose. My plan is to use a clear driving light powered by a switch in the cab. I want more than just th e light from a courtesy lamp. I am switching it from the cab vs. a jamb switch because I don't want it on when the tool box is open during the day.
Any pictures would also be greatly appreciated. On a side note I am going to take the fan off (keeping it in the truck) and see how the truck does on our trip to Kansas. I will be taking careful note of the mileage and temps and report back to y'all when we get home in a week. I am also gutting the kitty and muffler tomorrow A.M. Cannot wait to hear the sound of the TURBO SPOOL UP!!!!! :burnit :burnit :ford
See ya',
Craig

Buy the light you have under your hood. Activated by mercury switch. Simple. get it at dealer or hit a junkyard. Or just radio Shack.

Sorry just caught this thread. Here's mine. At the moment, the last 3 years, it's on a constant hot. There is a switch on the light itslef so I only turn it on when I need it. It's no more than an 1157 lamp but it puts out plenty of light at night. My plans are to put a jamb switch on the tool box to turn the light on, day and night, and tie the circuit into my dome light. By connecting it to the dome light, it will become an alarm trigger and let me know to grab some ammo.

i mounted a "license plate light" on the bottom of my tool box and have it wired in with the load lights for my truck bed (mounted on outside of toolbox) and the load lights on my trialer. i put a switch in the cab to turn on/off.
