Today when I started my truck it jumped right to the high idle. The chip was set on tow so brainiack me wiggled the chip in the computer. It died never to fire again. At first I thought it was the CPS so I changed that. My tach still doesn't move during cranking and no wait to start light ether. Hooked up a code reader and it just says ERROR. Any ideas? I friend who is a mechanic says he would try a new computer.

About three years ago when the code reader said Error on mine the PCM had to be replaced. Do you know someone that you can borrow one from? I just unplugged mine without removing it and plugged a loaner in and it fired right up.

Try one thing.............

Unhook batts for half an hour then power back up again.

Always worth a try - you never know. I work around computers some days and know that I have popped them with static - and unplugging the power cord and then back in resets them - so it might work here. Not holding my breath though - but still worth a shot.
