I am new (today) to this forum, and fairly new to diesels (this is the first one). I retired a few years ago and after Katrina 'blew thru' a couple of years ago I decided to 'full-time' in a Travel Trailer, hence the diesel. For the most part I have not regretted the decision to move up to the 3/4 ton truck and it has pulled the TT with little or no issues. It weighs 8,000 lbs fully loaded (7,000 lbs avg) and my PSD hardly knows it's there. I enjoy getting away for extended periods of time so the cost of diesel ($3.99 here) may slow me down, but doesn't stop me. When I'm not pulling the TT I use the PSD as a daily driver (sort of) and spend time on the Mississippi Gulf Coast a couple of days per week. Where the diesel is always $.15 to $.20 cheaper per gallon . I've always been a fanatic about maintaining my vehicles and hope that this habit will help mine last a long long time. I've had a few 'issues' recently with injectors going bad and my dealer recently found that an injector sleeve had to be replaced, so I hope that this will clear up recent issues and get me back on the road. Everything else about the truck has been perfect. I have an airaid intake system, 4" exhaust, go power stainless steel permenant oil filter, and until recently used a hypertech 3 power programmer. My dealer states that the programmer caused my injector problems, so I won't use that anymore.
