I did the fitting at the fuel pump, but none at the the top of the tank, I could be sucking air their just as easy, they are quick disconnect too.(I think)
DP= that is the veggie guy. They have a regulated return that uses that line set up but adds to it. $199 dollars total.
The hx line seems real easy to install compared to the other.

The Tank fitting is IN the tank, not on top. Yul need to drop the fuel tank... or remove the bed to get to it. Then remove the fuel pick up/guage sending unit assembly.....

I know that, but the sending unit has to attach to the fuel lines somehow.
Thats quick disconnect isn't it? I assume air can get it at this connection. I will do in the tank too while I am there. But if I have a full tank, its not an issue inside it.

The in tank kit stops cackle only if you have air leaks there. I would do it just because it is a good idea for if you get crud in the tank. Right now, if you have crud, it blocks up the filters in the tank and you need to drop the tank to clean it out. I removed all filtration in the tank. Right now it sucks fuel to the pump and all that is inbetween it is an EXTERNAL filter. That means I spin it off when needed. Also it is a water separator.

ITP 7.3L Fuel Tank / Pre-Pump Kit

As to the Regulated Return, I think my installation took out most of the cackle in the truck.

Finally, it MIGHT have quietened down some when I installed the 2nd HPOP which acts as a HPX.

Nope.. the connections TO the top of the fuel tank are not QD and the (possible) problem. (It's the mixing valve thing/fitting down inside the tank that is the problem)

Yes.. If the tank is over half full.. you would'nt be sucking any air in.

Check out Aklims link, and the instructions.

thanks, I like the prepump kit. I know its a good idea. I THOUGHT the fittings on top of the tank were qd's
I figured maybe i was sucking air there. Nsturally, i would of gone in the tank too. I thought i was getting air from the connections at the top. If not then air from there is not my issue. I will still do it but its not the problem. I am going to do the hx line first. easy and sortof cheap. It may also help my sputter from injectors when no throttle is being applied and the truck is rolling along. I get a sputter.
hers the post from tim h, tranny specialist good knowledge from this man

"injectors arent charged with oil pressure high enough for a good burn at no throttle engine coast. The injection oil pressure sensor can be bad, the high pressure oil pump can be weak, low on engine oil, dirty engine oil can cause the problems. Also "chipped" 7.3s as well as re-tuned 6.0s can suffer from higher injector demands without enough high oil pressure to pop the injector properly.
There are dual pumps made for the higher demands and dual end feed line kits that will distribute the oil pressure more evenly to the injectors. Also your 7.3 in the pickups use a swash plate pump design. The Expedition diesel 7.3 used a gear rotor type of pump. The gear rotor design produces more volume as well as pressure and work better in your truck"

i tried wiki and finally checked that out, I also checked guzzles home page. He, too had a pic of the sending unit. It looked to me as if quick disconnect fittings at the sending unit. Thats what i have been asking. I know how to do the intank stuff.
All i wanted confirmed is fittings at the tank and what they are?
So i am going to bed, its late, To me its a quick disconnect. If i am wrong please tell me and show a pic if possible.
