Welcome to Superduty Diesel as there is a wealth of information here for you. I asked the same question here when I was thinking about my Superduty purchase. You can see what I have in the signature portion below. I believe the 2003 model year was where you had both engines produced that year. If you could find a 2003 with a 7.3L that is what I would go with. If you go with a 6.0 then be careful as to what model year or if it has been modified which seemed to affect the 6.0 and cause considerable expensive damage, namely head problems. I have the 6.0 and there were no chips or mods to increase the HP except for the exhaust and cold air intake. I have presently 99k on it and it still seems to be running fine.

I think another persons comment on here about his 2004 6.0 is that its completely stock but I can't tell you how many miles he has on it now.

What cha say Dave?

I can only say that I have 2K 7.3, and it's been a VERY, VERY good truck. 160K & counting.

I have a 06 6.0 and just made a 1000 mile trip to S. Texas pulling a 16,500 lb+ fifth wheel
and the truck did great. At one time I was hitting a big head wind and it just kept on
pulling. The RV is 13.2 tall and 100 in's wide, that's a lot of wind to push. I was thinking maybe 5 mpg, it got 8.9 on that trip, I am very pleased with my truck. Good luck on finding what your looking.
My gross is 25,870 lb.
