We have a relationship about like Mike and Boyd.
Boyd's a jerk.

Honestly though, Toyota builds a decent truck though I would be leary of them jumping into the full size truck market and competing with the likes of Ford,Dodge and GM at least for a few years. That said, I still probably wouldnt own one if and when they get the first few years behind them.

Dave

I got tired of hitchhiking home :rant I now drive a 565 Cummins and could not be more pleased. I now pick up Cat drivers.

To give you a idea how they perform we sent a 500 Cat down to the dyno in Edmonton and it put out around 350 horse. Cat claimed it to be our bad Alaska fuel so the local Pete dealer sent a drum of Alaska #1 to Seattle to be dynoed in a 565 Cummins. They dynoed the 565 Cummins on #2 Seattle fuel and it put out 612horse. They then drained the system and ran it again on #1 Alaska fuel and it put out 613horse. Hmmm bad fuel eh? The new Cat's are JUNK..................

Toyota so called full size trucks are no longer "Japanese built"
They are now biult in San Antonio TX, as would be the one with a
diesel if they decide to do it.:sweet

I'm not trying to start anything, just trying to keep people informed,
also, no matter where it's made, I would not trade my SD in on one:thumbs

The tacos I had for breakfast were made in Austin Texas, but I still call them "MEXICAN" food! I'm sorry, Toyotas can be built in the nations capitol next to President Bush's desk and they will still be a Japanese truck to me!

They're still considered Japanese because the corporate headquarters are in Japan. Same for a Canadian or Mexican built Ford/Chevy/Dodge, they're still considered domestic vehicles. With all the companies building factories all over the world, the "parent" country identity is fading. At least we still have vehicles still being built in the good old USA instead all of them being built in Japan/China/Korea, etc. as are all the electronics (tv's radios, etc.). Even a good bit of the farm tractors are being built in Great Britain or Japan (New Holland, Kubota, smaller John Deeres, Case IH, etc.). I prefer the "US" brands Ford, GM, Chrysler in that order, but I've got to admit, the new Toyota Tundra Crew Max is a nice looking truck (especially if it had a PSD).
