I no longer use the auto hubs so could you theoretically remove the vacuum lines and install grease zerks for the bearings?

Sounds interesting, I thought that these trucks had unibearings, or sealed bearings? In other words there not serviceable. the vacumn actuates the hub inside the wheel bearing assembly, but not through the bearings themselves. I don't think you would do any thing but lube the hub parts really well. Most of the time to much grease in the hub parts means stiff movement/no movement which = no 4 wheel drive when you need it most. ;)

I know you can't lube these bearings. They are a one shot deal. Install them, and burn them out, replace.

Wasn't there some talk at one time about pulling the abs fitting and squirting some grease in there?

This is intresting, I am with you Dave I thought they were sealed. And when they make noise you change them out.
