Ran down to the local hydraulic supply store (Parker) and had them make me a HPX hose. The hose was 5,000 psi, and had the 90 degree crimp on fittings on the end. Installed the hose and after about 30 miles - BOOM - sounded like a gunshot and the truck shut off. Got out and looked and there was oil on the ground. To make a long story short - one of the end fittings blew right off the hose (the part where it's clamped). The guys at the store did the crimping on one of those big machines. Could they have gotten the wrong size die? I can't think of any other reason for it to fail like that, but I would think that they would know how to make up a hose.
Could something have been plugged?
Worst part was - got towed back to the house by a Dodge
