Hot oil?

Temperature of the oil may have caused the failure. I've seen Parker hoses fail (blowing the fitting off the hose) when the plastic inner melts down.

on your next hose, insist on a pressure check, hoses should burt long before a fitting gives way, I am not a fan of crimps, but done correctly should not let loose. somebody got in a hurry building your line

bet it made one heck of a mess :D

Yeah, it was a mess alright!

On the pressure test - anybody have any idea on the pressure that is generated by the HP oil system? I was thinking I read that it was about 2,000. Sound right?

Some can see steady 2800psi at WOT. I see about 2400 psi. But that's not the problem. When you lift the throttle there's a spike in pressure. I see it on shifts being a stick. Scan tool shows spikes of just over 3800 but on a mechanical gauge I've seen 4000psi when shifting at WOT in either extreme program.

What's the temp rating on the hose? Oil temp can get around 240 from my data logging.

I'll check it out - it's out in the truck right now, and I'm heading out to the hydraulic store at lunch. We'll see what they say.

With my EASE diagnostics I have seen mine over 3300 #. This is with a chip so not sure if that through it off or not. I would not think 3k line working would be good enough or would be on the high end of borderline. JMOHO

iffin i was doing it all over again i would go with 10k flex ss/teflon lined hose. pressure line, a good surge of 4 or 4.5 k will tend to make things go stretchy BOOM 10k wil give you some Cushion when your pushin :D

i am still imagining the mess of oil spray, lucky it didnt atomize and go FIRE on you
