The oil pressure doesn't get to 27000 psi, the fuel being injected to the cylinders will be though. The ICP sensor sends info on oil pressure to the computer which regulates the oil pressure through the IPR. The oil pressure will vary depending upon engine RPM, load on engine, & throttle position.
Hope this helps,
Mike

I think Bushpilot was talking to DaveBen regarding 27k.

Oh and YES there are guages that read real-time HPOP pressure via the ICP sensor.

right...the oil pressure never reaches more than 4k....
and yes there are NEWLY available HPOP gauges.

i am more than curious about where & what tool is picking up
the hpop pressure readings...since i have autoenginuity and it
doesnt pick it up....and to my knowledge the ford tool doesnt
pick it up either

right...and im curious to know if the icp even sends "pressure readings"
(below 4000psi)...my thought is that its a limit switch but i dont know.

thanks for all the feedback. i do know there is a guage that will pick up HPOP
psi and i am thinking about getting one....as for what tool i am using, it is a
SNAP ON (MODIS) scanner. beside reading codesi can do tests on the glow plug system and even injector buzz test. it also will show all the data coming from the engine.....i will know more today, going to hook up the scanner and go for a drive....

yup the fuctions & testing that youre able to perform are the
same that im able to do w/ autoenginuity...the version (laptop/software)
that i have does NOT read/report HPOP pressures...at least not that *I*
can find....it is a critical data point & id LOVE to have the information from it.

just got back from a drive with scanner hooked up....at idle it was around 600
psi and climbed gradually with load and rpm ...at WOT, it was at 3800 psi....it takes it reading from ICP...but i still would like the guage in the truck, that way i can check it often, along with other guages....like Bush said, it is good data to know....

Excellent!! I'm ordering the pigtail right now to replace the crappy wire tap the Commander came with.
