AND..;):)

When you get all the arrangements made, and have stored your truck.. It's a good idea to give a set of truck keys, and a key to the storage unit.. to a trusted person.. and [register that person] with the storage facility operator, so he/she can check on things.. now'n then, while yer away... and let you know of any issues. (peace of mind ?)

AND..

Setting it up for the storage fee's to be [automatically payed].. each month, or in X month increments... ain't a bad idea ether ? (again, peace of mind)

Well guys, after doing some searching here in town, i have decided not to store my truck in storage. It's too dam Expensive!! I checked with about 10 places here in bossier and shreveport, some of which werent even climate contolled, and the cheapest i found was $160 a month. Thats with a military discount! Even though the military will reimburse me for it, im not willing to pay that much out of pocket while im gone. Ive decided to let an old boss keep it at his place. Hes gonna drive it 50 miles every friday back and forth to an automechanic school he just started. Thanks again for all the advice.

One other thing: i just switched to rotella t-6 about 2K ago. My truck should only accumulate 2500 miles or so til i get back in April 2012. Think my oil would last til then, or should i have him change it out in october or so?

:sweet At least it'll be driven some. Better in the long run (Seals, gaskets, batteries.. that kinda thing)

Synthetic oils don't degrade like Dino oils do (JMO).. so I'd say: Yer good to go. But.. if he doesn't mind changing it.. Go for that too.

Good idea. I was going to suggest that you could let some of your SDD buddies keep it for you and drive it. :D

I know you are going to be busy with training, but keep in touch with us while you are gone.

Thank you for your service to our country.
