yeah and it also keeps little critters out of the inside of the motor. They like to store there food in the must inconvenient places. and a cloth filter I would only assume tastes great to mice.

Yep... Fer Critters it's: Location, Location, Location... just like US ;):lmao

After the oily rag.. a Tweaked Up coffee can works too.. as an End Cap, held on with a clamp, or saftey wire.

You've got time to work it out, so go slow.

Yer call Clint, but I wouldn't leave/store it in the parking lot. Good chance, even on the Base.. for thieves & vandals to do their business.

For your piece of mind.... the monthly rental fee for a covered, locked, secured access Storage Facility.. is worth EVERY Nickle. Not to mention the protection provided, against the Elements.. for your VERY NICE truck.

FWIW ? What I usta do ?

1. Fill the tank(s) to the TOP.. With.. a ratio dose of Sta-Bil.

2. Remove the battery's, store them in the bed, in a plastic pan.

3. Drain the filter bowl, remove the filter, fill it with ATF. (won't go sour)

4. Jack it up just high enough, to take the weight off of the suspension.

5. Deflate tire psi to 30 psi. Spare too.

6. Stuff an oily (not soaked) rag in the intake.

7. Same as #6, up the exhaust pipe(s).

8. Leave the windows down about a 1/8"

Yer good to go ;tu (I was, many times over) (9+ months, at times)

and I would add
moth balls in mesh bag hanging inside the cabin, to keep them daddy long leggers out of the cab
and if you have time remove the accessory drive belt, or at least let it have no tension on it

a completely enclosed storage building shouldn't be to hard to find near barksdale with the length you need, look for a place that stores boats, they have longer buildings

well, found out today that i'm leaving for training in february and wont be back in country til april of 2012. So, i'm leaning toward finding me a nice climate controlled staorage place and jacking her up and following Big Joe's storage list.

Anybody know where i can get a good deal on some good jack stands? local store or internet?

Most any good Parts house would have'm. Shipping would getcha on the Internet ?

also, what should be the minimum weight for the jack stands?

4, 5 ton'rs would do it. Never go minimum on Jack Stand capacity is my .02. You can always use'm for other needs.. down the road. (Harbor Freight has'm for about 50 bucks a pair)
