Great recount of changing fuel filter/ having subsequent showers .....should put it on a written joke page .....JH..really enjoyed it ...thank you..robertoh
call me cheap, but if it doesn't take special tools or high tech equipment, I'll spend endless hours to do it myself. I'll probably even do the tranny when the time comes with the rental of a tranny jack.
PS, I do have quite the collection of left over nuts and bolts
i do it all, except the injectors internal parts but if i had the parts and a book id tear into them just to see how they worked when i got done.but ill leave that part for good ole BDP to do for me.
I don't like anybody working on my trucks. The bad part is I have to have a friend install my new Tq Converter Wed morning (because my garage is not done yet) and I'm not sure I'll be able to get any work done looking out the window wondering how my truck is doing while it's being fondled by a strangers hands.... Maybe I'll call in sick so I can be there to make sure he doesn’t do anything wrong.
Some people tell me I might need some help with my little problem but I think I'm doing just fine .........

Everything that does not involve a vehicle lift, transmission R&R, and differential gear changes. If I can get away with two 4 ton floorjacks and supports, I'm under it.
I think I would do the tranny if I had to, I have done them before. I do not think I would want to pull the engine though. That is a huge time commitment and needs a bigger area than I have.
Automatic transmissions intimidated me until we did a couple, now I realize there is no magic in there. Rear end still make me nervous, you can put them together and think you have it right only to have them wear out in a little while.
