How do you get power out of a 1994 7.3 turbo

Did you have head studs in your IDI? I was making 15 psi w/ H2O - meth going & people told me I was gonna pop a head off if I went much higher in pressure.

No, I never did anything with the Head Studs. I could [get] 20 lbs of boost but I never made the 'ol Boy Hold it, because of EGT temps.. and the Head pop issues. I could & would, throttle 20 psi to crest a hill or complete a Pass.. that's about it.

Had the ATS Turbo set up and Pump tweak on'im for about 175K... 'til I sold it. He was a Hand Full with a 11' Lance on the back & Metro in tow.. had to keep a Constant Vigil on traffic, terrain, gearing (had a GV splitter), rpm's, egt's, boost and engine temps.. lota fun tho.. kinda like driving my " OTR Big Truck".(at the time) he'd Git'r Dun tho.

Whooo.. go'n down Memory Lane here;) :)

I had very good luck with ATS's stuff. Good Tech service too.

while i may be of the only 2 people that has had issues with the ATS junk id rather have him know about my issues before he makes his decision.im not gonna tell him not to buy it but ill never buy another ATS product and ill tell everybody that asks about ATS stuff about my experience.

I'm suprised you're still bashing the ATS stuff even after the ZF5 swap. You yourself said the EGT's are much more manageable now that the E4doa is gone.

they are but i still have the nasty leaks that the ATS rep said would fill up with soot and quiet down in a few weeks.here i am around 2 years later and still have nasty leaks.and when i put the junk on the truck the EGTs went UP instead of down!!waste of money!!

turning the screw "in" is clockwise correct. just want to double check!
What size allen is it? One full turn is good?
adjusting the waste gate? how much and longer or shorter?

Here are some specs on the truck, it is still a work in progress.
1994 f250, s/c longbed, 7.3L turbo, auto, with front 60 swap, 3" sky reverse shackle kit and rear blocks, it is 4" over a stock f250, 315/75r16 bfg a/t's w/ 4.10 gears and a straight pipe. I still have to put a windshield in it, front grill, bumper, L/f fender and L door. person i bought it from put it in a ditch!

Im excited and i havnt even driven it since i brought it home with the falling out ttb 50, 3.55's, stock tires and restriced exhaust!

Yes,"IN", clockwise.

What size allen is it? One full turn is good?

I don't remember the size but turn it IN a 1/2 turn, try that for awhile, then another 1/2.. see what you think.

adjusting the waste gate? how much and longer or shorter?

Disconnect the rod, turn the adjustment IN (shorter) 6 full turns. Try that for awhile. Re-adjust to what you think is best for you.

All of the above are some Generic, Basic adjustments for your 7.3 that you said you haven't driven yet.

Some UN-Solicited advice would be: Go Slow. Like, Drive it Stock, then Tweak things a bit ? Tweak and Un-Tweak til' you git it where it runs the >best<. (ol' guy stuff ;) )

where is the allen? a buddy of mine said it was under a plate on the pass side of the fuel pump. took the plate off(2 small bolts and a gasket) didnt see the allen screw. turned the motor over a couple of times and still didnt see it.
am i in the wrong spot?

Get yer buddy over, to show you exactly where it is. A bit to hard to desribe in words on here but I think yer in the right place. It's Small and hard to see. yul proly need a good light.. a mirror helps, so you see it.. then do the adjustment by feel.

Well.......did you turn the pump up or what? My ATS turbo is fine, basically its the stock IDI turbo off the turbo trucks, but with the upgraded housing and downpipe. I have no leaks, but I suppose theres always cases where a place will sell a bad product.

The allen screw is 5/32" I believe.
