I'm new @SDD but I learned most of what I know about diesels in the IDI basement at OB. I had an 88 IDI & started from scratch with a banks turbo, but I remember guys talking about the turbo IDI & saying there was an upgrade kit from ATS for your turbo that would yield more power. I think it may have been a down pipe or DP and exhaust housing. If I remember right there is also an adjustment screw on top of the 94 IP that will pump up pedal response a little. Have you ever had it timed? That could be a big power killer also. Maybe some matched injectors too. Pretty easy to change them compared to PSD's

first yes there is an upgrade(if thats what you wanna call it) kit from ATS.it replaces the turbine housing, outlet housing and down pipe.i bought the whole kit with a complete exhaust system.wish i never bought it!!huge waste of money.it has leaks everywhere!the ATS tech i spoke with said that the leaks will go away in a couple weeks when soot fills the joints.the ATS junk has been on my truck for about 2 years now and guess what?????? IT STILL FREAKIN LEAKS!!!!!!i cant get 2 the top and middle bell housing bolts cuz the downpipe is right in the way.i had to make a bracket to make the ATS mount bracket work.just a nightmare and ill never buy another ATS product again.:rant :rant :rant :rant :rant :rant :rant :rant

Well, don't I feel like a big fat ass now. Sorry man, wasn't trying to give you bad info.

Now...I had purdy good results with ATS on my 'ol 91 non-turbo.

Bought the Up-graded ATS turbo kit with Pyro/Boost gauges and Exhaust, turned the pump screw IN (Natzy) one full turn, adjusted the Wastegate (Natzy) so I could get 20 pounds.. Ran and pulled better..... For what it was.

Still not enough "Poop" for me but it Did make a good difference.

I feel better now. I didn't remember hearing bad things about that kit, but to each his own.

Did you have head studs in your IDI? I was making 15 psi w/ H2O - meth going & people told me I was gonna pop a head off if I went much higher in pressure.

before everyone else gets scared off ATS over rich's post, be mindful he's got to be the second person ever who has had issues with ATS products. I happen to like what ATS products has done for my truck:D
