Sorry fellas, just got back from vacation (not sure if anyone was on my account or not) But anyways; my personal vehicle, if I am only putting 5,000 mile on a vehicle each year, I am not springing for extra filtration... Don't tell my boss I said that! ;) Beyond the extended drain intervals, the bypass filter does reduce engine wear considerably. Most of the wear in an engine comes from particles in the 2-5 micron range, so a bypass filter WILL extend the life of the long block, pending there are no other catastrophic failures that are not oil related (i.e. glow plug tip breaking). All that said, we do have guys with classics and hot rods that don't get hardly any miles at all, put the filter on just for the added engine protection.

Got a 2007 F-350 with the 6.0. I run Royal Purple and put in the stiction eliminator. Have 147.500 miles on the motor and I bought it 3 years ago and it had 55K on it. Made a mistake putting an O'Reilly's alternator on it. That died and I had it replaced with Ford. What do y'all feel when you are experiencing the "stiction"? If REV-X Makes a better product, I'll use it. I have also put the "Everyday diesel Treatment" in the fuel. Seems to work well. Maybe I'm just ignorant about things because I am not mechanically inclined, but can y'all enlighten me?

I put Hot Shots in my add a quart with oil change I know it works for a fact never used Rev X I heard it also works, I put the hot shots in a 3rd oil change I use 1 quart ATF transmission fluid per diesel fill up my diesel mechanic race car driving buddy puts 10 quarts of used transmission fluid in tank every so often no stitching probs he swears by that because if you think about it diesel is closely related to a number off different products high ignition temp also put out a bunch of heat and burn for awhile

I've used REV-X. Works very well. I actually have some in the current oil, and it has eliminated the minor stiction issue I was having. I have also been running Chevron Delo 5W-40 Full Synthetic engine oil for several years. That helped also, and it starts much easier in the winter. Between the Delo and the REV-X, I have no sitction issues.

One difference between the REV-X and Hot Shots, is REV-X replaces much less than Hot Shots, does.

REV-X is only 8 ounces and Hot Shots is 64 ounces, for the initial treatment of each. then maintenance is half that amount, 4 oz and 32 oz respectively.....

But I like hss.

I'm not going to argue go with one or the other. But the info is out there.
