Hello and I'm wondering if anyone else has had this vibration. 2006 F250 4X4 6.0L
I will start a few days ago - We had a cold snap in WI. and on the way home from work my truck suddenly would not make any power. Wouldn't shift, wouldn't go. We pulled over and left it run for a while. Also I dumped a good amount of power service into it. Was running fine at idle and around town so we jumped on the highway to go home. Fell flat on its face again. Got it to a wayside and called AAA. Ends up the prior owner ran unfiltered veggie oil in it once in a while. So the filters waxed up with residue from the tank. Had the filters changed out and the shop dumped a gallon of cleaner into the tank. The truck ran great on the way home (2 hours) Ran great the next day to work. That afternoon on the way home from work it started to run just a little rough at idle. I figured the filters picked up a little more crud. Ran it around the next day and then I picked up a strange vibration only at 55- 65 miles per hour only when I am maintaining power not making power or when decelerating. And its only at that speed. So knowing that my ball joints are worn out from plowing - over the weekend I replaced uppers and lowers. All the u joints are tight and so is the center bearing. Tie rods are tight. Tires are new and were just rebalanced and rotated yesterday. Today I swapped out fuel filters again. The one on the pump was a little dirty the one on the motor was clean as could be. The rough idle cleared right up but I am still left with that vibration. It is considerably less noticeable but it is still there. I'm thinking I'm chasing 2 issues -
Any ideas on the vibration???? Shocks are original to the truck 80k miles, I wonder if with the ball joints going out - the shocks took the abuse of plowing. But the front end is stiff so a bounce test will not work.
