Help my outside temp gauge went south.

Well here's the story I took my 04 SD into the dealership fo some routine maintenance. When I got it back I notced that my overhead outside temp reading was way off. It worked before I went in and now it will only read -40 degrees. I tried to tell the dealership about it but they just said that "there's nothing that they would have done to mess it up." It worked before but not three hours later. They offered to make an appointment to have it checked out. I hate not having it work and would really like to not take it back to them. My question is what would make the temp. sensor constantly read -40 degrees? Is there a simple fix or am I stuck taking it back in? Thanks for any info.

look and see if the sensor behind the grille got unplugged....

Between the drivers side headlight/turnsignal and A/C condensor.

Cool, Found it and checked the connection. It wasn't plugged in all the way. Pushed it together and the low and behold it works. Thanks!
