its my understanding the TECHs learned to lift the cab so they
could do the job w/out loosing money.
ford pays a set number of hours for a given repair (and apparently,
ford under estimated the number of hours to do MOST of the jobs).
the techs got smart and discovered they could pull the cabs bodies off
faster (than they could pull the motor)...and this allows 'em to
work on the motor in the frame.
all this said...it only applies to WARRENTY work....for NON-Warrenty work
they charge by the hour and they get paid the FULL rate (warrenty rates
are reduced).
so basically it takes LONGER to do the work when they DONT pull the
body...and the tech (and shop) make more when its OUTTA WARRENTY
work.
