truck is dead....

cranks over but no fire...

glow plugged 5 times, sat untouched since friday. fuel is low, driveway has an uphill slope. ??where is fuel pickup??towards the front or rear. cranked enough that batt's are pretty drained. temp has been something like 400 below. as i've stated b4 i have no functioning heater cord.

if i put a batt. charger on, does it matter which one i pick?

what do you all think?

I have heard from someone else that their guage said they had fuel left but ran out anyway, unaccurate fuel guage. If your low on fuel, this could be something, I also heard the if you raise the front end or rear end (cant remember which) you can squeeze a couple more gallons in tank. I dont know where the pick up line is :sorry and not saying this is the problem, I just thought I would add. :goodluck

the pick up is fairly well positioned in the middle of the tank...
and i think theres even a valley such where the pick point is.

wont matter which battery you charge to...its 12v and both will
get charged/balanced.

if you think its fuel/level...i guess the smelly thing to do would
be to get 5 or 10 gallons via fuel cans and dump it in...obviously not
something we LIKE to have to do.

not sure about the 400 below ;) maybe 4 below 0f ? if thats the
case you could have a gel issue.

If you aren't running an additive, I'd say you very well could have it gelled up.

It would be easier if it's just out of fuel...

how bad is your old cord? if you can cut back a bit and put a new end on it and fish it through the wheel well opening and plug it in...but you have to find the bad spot in the cord first....

mine had a harder time starting too this mourning....will be pludgging it in tonite....

You could always open the fuel bowl drain and turn the key to see if you are getting fuel (in liquid form). A couple 500w work lights can help to warm the engine bay. When the batts are recharged, don't try to start the truck right when the WTS light goes out. The GP's will stay on for two minutes. (assuming a functioning GPR). You should see the volt meter go up about a volt or two when the GP cycle is over.

wwweeeellllll-

i just dumped in 8oz. of powerservice and 5 gall. fuel.

before i left to get fuel i put the charger on and on to 12v - registered 11-12 amps. cycled key, waited for 3-5 sec. past lite-out and cranked: she fired hard. re-cranked and batts died down. asked the wife to watch the needle when i just turned the key over and she said it went to 17. while cranking it pegged to 20 then to 0.

HUH................only direction your meter should go is down while cranking. How old are the bats???

You can take them out.............carry them down to your favorite parts store and get them load tested.
