hard shift 3rd gear

hey new to forum. was looking around and can not find anything to help me out. i have a 2005 f250 and in the last 3 months it has done this maybe 4 times. whenever the truck is about to shift into 3rd gear it shifts really hard and then when i come to a stop it does not want to move. but as soon as it does that it stops doing it and it drives just fine again. all have done to it is a bully dog triple dog. any help would be great. thanks

I'm no transmission expert so this is just a guess....valve body??
My other guess would be torque converter, but it doesnt really sound like thats the issue. Have it scanned at a transmssion shop and see what they say

Remove the Bully Dog and see if it still does this. My guess is the Bully Dog is messing with the tranny.

I thought of that as well. I guess if you go another 2 months problem free then theres your problem.

yeah if i take it off it does not seem to but it but then again it only does it when it wants to lol i dunno

I'd take it off before IT decided to mess something up.... IMO

Yea might wanna turn it down a notch. My guess....I dont know whats been done to your truck. Go to the user cp up top and edit your signature. Is the rest of the truck stock?
