Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying the gold is better than the green coolant, I just found it interesting that yours happened to be green. I like green, my truck is green, but the coolant that came in the truck is gold.
Yes, the " "coolant wars" over yonder" have been amusing.
Like you I dont believe there is a "dummy-proof system" when it comes to coolant so I test and adjust the additives in my gold coolant as well. Soon it will be time to flush and fill mine and intend to use a heavy duty extended life coolant, but, just like fingers in the cake mix, I probably won't be able to keep the test strips out of the coolant.
