I THINK MY GLOW PLUGS ARE GETTING BAD REAL HARD STARTING WHEN COLD AND NOT PLUGGED IN HEARD IT IS A REAL P.I.A. TO CHANGE THEM OUT IS THIS TRUE?

They aren't that bad - just make sure you get the right ones. There are two different lengths.

The glow plugs are pretty reliable. Hard starts are more likely to be a FICM issue.

Could also be related to injector stiction (oil latching) also. Oil that is old or too thick can cause injector performance issues. 5W40 synthetic helps, some have had luck w/ a product called RevX. The newest flash from the dealership is designed to help also (if you haven't had a flash update in the last few years).

I had the same issues. The shop told me he has yet to see a bad glow plug on a 6.0. Have your truck hooked up to a computer and check for codes. Mine was the FICM. But prior to going for the expensive fix I did try the re-flash. Good luck.
