FWI......Stamart Truck Stop in Grand Forks has Premium, #2, #1 and 50/50 blend all in a row at the truck islands....... Pick yer poison
Both premium and #2 were $3.499 gal when I topped off to the tune of 87 gallons last night before crossing the border. IIRC the #1 was 3.699 gallon, might have been the blend pump though, I was tired and have CRS.
Power service cost at $16.99 was slightly cheaper than the $17.40 extra for putting #1 (or was it blend) in the tank would have cost........ Not to mention the better fuel milage savings of #2. I get about 10 mpg loaded on #2 and about 8 mpg loaded on blend.
Now if Canada would come down off the C$1.06 a liter.... $4.00+ per gallon.... I'd buy fuel up there because it's still easy to get the LSD instead of ULSD with it's lower BTU content.
Power Service or correct winter fuel is a whole lot cheaper than a tow, filters, labor and possibly injectors too... Cutting costs in the wrong places doesn't save you anything.
