Pre is definitely the best. I had the sensor installed and they put it in post turbo but I made them change it. There was a difference of almost 150F at 70 mph.

IMO, pre-turbo is best. The exhaust in the manifold is closest to the aluminum pistons which has a melting point of around 1250 degrees. Granted the piston oilers will help, that's why burst over 1300 don't burn holes in the pistons.
The turbine fins are inconel I think, if not it's something that holds up to the temps better than the aluminum of the pistons.

Not a newbie.
Actually the melting point of the pistons is about 1600 degrees. And I also recommend pre-turbo. I removed my manifold to drill as suggested by Banks. I had the six gun installed and that is what the directions say. I have heard people argue over that subject a lot. Pre for me.

I guess the alloy used by Mahle could bring it up some too.
Sure hope you don't know that # from firsthand experience.Interesting about the instructions from Banks saying to remove the manifold, all their kits have the down pipe drilled with a bung for the pyro.
