Fuel economy via T/C or propane

I wanted to get everyones opinion on this....About 2 years ago when i first bought my 01 X 7.3L i was looking into fuel economy over at our local ats diesel shop and the sales guy in there told me that if i wanted to increase my fuel economy around town that this T/C was the way to go. If i wanted to increase my fuel economy on the hwy i should install there propane injection. Now he said that most use the propane for power but it is adjustable to my needs and could be tweeked for fuel economy. Now i have read alot of the posts here and would have to say that the majority of you guys say stay away from propane. But i just want to hear your comments after you take a look see. I am thinking about doing the T/C since i really need the help for around town driving. I noticed that diesel went up again tonight to 3.92.
