i get 18 miles/ US gallon and 21 miles/imperial gallon with my 2005 6.0 F250 while empty on the highway. this was figured out with a calculator and counting my km's, not on the computer. this is all with 12k km on the truck so far.
the 6.0 is more powerfull, more eficient and cleaner burning that the 7.3 will ever be. i have yet to have a problem with my '05. it is by far the best truck i have owned. i couldn't be happier with it.

My 05 gets slightly better Fuel mileage than my 01. For several reasons.

1. Stock tires.
2. No Programmer
3. 01 Has 206,000 miles

My 01 at about 50,000 with stock tires would get on a regular basis 17.5 MPG
Best my 05 has gotten so far is 17.2 but it averages about 16.5.

I was hoping for 18 MPG.

with my '95 my best is 18.9 and I average right around 16-17 w/ 4wd and 4.10 gears. I can tell you that on a regular basis the OBS 2wd trucks w/ 3.55 gears are breaking 20.

I wish Ford would offer the 3.55 axle in the 250's. Some people (like me) don't do a lot of towing, and the 3.55 would be a little better than the 3.73.
