fellow psd guy stumped :confused:by my wifes camaro, back story.......
car died while sitting at a stop light. at idle is just slowly died out, had a near full tank of gas, so i figured fuel pump died or collapsed fuel filter, nope checked pump and changed filter, so changed out ignition coil and cap & rotor, still nothing. everything seems to be getting power where it should, it will just crank over for ever but wont start........ any ideas before i fold and take it to the shop :(
:hail please help

note: even with adding extra fuel down the top dosent help
going to get a in line fuel pressure gauge to install in 30 min at the parts store

their is a module in the distributor that must be good, they can go bad, If i remember correct your dist had a module. Would act as if coil went bad, check for spark at the plug? If it has spark its not the module.

sound`s like a spark issue, so it would be a good place to start....possible cause`s, coil or module in the distributor....

easy rule of thumb to remember on gassers..
"If you have fuel, spark, compression and vacuum and it still doesn't run..
you don't have spark. At least not at the correct time."

Those modules can be tough. I don't know about GM's, but Ford's modules back in the 70's and 80's were square boxes mounted on the fender well. A way to "jumpstart" them was to pour cold water directly on the box and the car would restart so you could drive it to a safer location or to a parts store.
