I see a few of you have this and I'm new to the SDD thing, still have a lot to learn... What benefit would I get from install it?

I go out side and start the truck when it like 16 outside and flip the switch with the heater on and I come back into the house and stay warm tell the truck is warm. If it's hot outside and I am parked waiting I flip it on to stay cool. I don't use it that much but it is nice to have.

I second WD40's comments. The high idle is especially helpful on hot days when you've got to leave the truck running (ie: family inside) while running into the store--helps keep the AC blowing cold.
If you've got to idle for extended periods in the bitter cold when it's too cold to shut the truck down, the high idle will keep the EGT's up.
It's much easier to install on a F250 or 350 than it is the Excursion--so you'd have an easy time of it if you decide to do it.

get a remote start alarm....flip the fan switch to high and leave it on A/C
or heat (depending on the time of year) and you wont have to walk out
side in the heat or cold
living in texas...NOW....i leave the A/C on & set to high when i exit the
truck...i remote start it from in the house and when we get into the truck
its no longer 140* degrees in the cab
for those of you living up north in the winter you might consider setting
it to DEFROST too...ill melt the ice and snow off youre wind shield while
youre still inside
the HIGH IDLE will help (in the winter) to avoid WET STACKING.
with these trucks you NEED an alarm anyway (the keyless entry is
nothing more than a lock actuator w/ a horn beep for confirmation...
its NOT to be considered an alarm).

Hey! I did not even know you could do this with the X!
Where can I find out how to do this on mine? It's an 04 X 6.0. I want this mod

What you want to do is hook the Blue/white wire to a switch and the other side of the switch to +12 volts. When the +12 volts is hooked to the blue/white wire the truck goes to high idle.

PTO, but it has nothing to do with the torque converter. It only works in Neutral or Park (I have an Auto).
