Maxtor, what does it say on your registration? It will show the factory shipping weight (empty).

Bama;

I would think that the crew cab short bed would be heavier than the extended cab with the 8 ft. bed, but I will check my trucks weight as soon as I can find a scale around here. Another factor is the fuel tank. On the crew cab short bed trucks, do you have the 28 or 38 gallon fuel tank? If the short beds have the 28 gallon tank, then I would think that my truck might be heavier when full of fuel.

max, mine had the 29 gallon tank. i think our trucks would be equal on length only, mine should be alittle heavier than yours.

the only weigh is to go to a scale, get it weighed, and scane in your scale ticket so we can see it.

i didnt save mine, so i may do it again soon. i'm only about 20 miles from the closest CAT scale.

Hey Dave;

On my registration, the place for weight/length is blank.
I guess I will need to weigh it.

On the window sticker it has eveything but weight.
It says:
2006 SD F350 4X4 SUPERCAB
XLT 158" WB STYLESIDE
6.0L V-8 DIESEL
6-SPD MANUAL DSL O/D-HD TRA
Besides the above information it says:
3.73 limited slip axle
brt polished tubular cab steps
11400# gvwr package
electronic shift on the fly
engine block heater
trailer brake controller
camper package
telescpng tt mirr-powr/htd
extra heavy duty alternator
upfitter switches
trailer hitch receiver 12.5k

Under the functional listing it says 38 gallon tank.

Bama, is this about what you have?

I will weigh it tomorrow and post the weights.

I think we should weigh about the same, or you might be a tad bit heavier.
My brother said to check on the driver door sill, but it did not give the truck weight, but did say do not exceed 3834 lbs. of cargo. Max weight on rear axle was 7000 pounds.

Maxtor, I have the almost the same truck as you exept mine has a 7.3 and an automatic and I have no problem weighing in at 8000 lbs at the truck pulls. Most of the time I have to remove my toolbox or step out of the truck to get down to under 8000lbs.

What about a F350 PSD s/c long bed 4x4? What do they weigh? I am going to have to find a scale.

A buddy of mine just purchased a new 06' CrewCab long bed 4x4 with the 6.0. We ran our truck across the scales just for fun. His was 4,600 on the front and 2,800 on the rear for a total of 7,400. This was bone stock off the lot. In comparison my 1996 CrewCab 4x4 came in at 4,400 front/3,200 rear for a total of 7,600. For some reason he is 200 heavier on the front but 400 lighter on the rear? 6.0 must be a much heavier engine than the 7.3 and they quit putting metal in the bed?

I was just told that the F250 PSD 4x4 weighs 8000 pounds. Is that right?

Thanks everyone for giving imput on all your weights...

I just came back from weighing ours, and here it is:

Full of fuel (38 gal) , reese 16k hitch, and Rhino spray in lining our truck weighs

7660 Pounds.

I also weighed the rear axle and it weighed
3160 Pounds.
So the front must weigh 4500 pounds.
patrickc;
Without the 5er hitch and spray in lining, I would probably be in the 7600 pound range, 400 pounds lighter then you are. I know the automatic is heavier than the manual trans, but I would not think 400 pounds. The only option we purchased on our truck that would increase the rear weight was a 12.5 k hitch. Maybe 50-70 pounds extra.
:confused:
