can any one tell me what a good exhaust system is for my truck. And what it will do as far as sound and horse power.

I would call Dale at Tymar. I am at the point of buying one also. From the videos I have heard the 3" post turbo downpipe and then 4" under the truck sound great and the egt release is supposed to really decrease heat. Which is good, someone else might be able to speak to HP. Tate

The 3" inch downpipe adds around 15 hp and I have never heard if the the 4" adds much I could only tell the diff with the downpipe as I added them at different time. the 96 through 94 and a half's are rated at 215 IIRC, and I think on the dyno the 97's make around 180hp at the rear wheels stock. also Diamond eye makes a good one and can be bought for a 319.00$

Welcome to the site.

Installing a exhaust system doesn't really make much power if any. The reason for installing a larger exhaust system is to prepare for other modifications like a chip that do make serious power but they need to have the exhaust opened up to work. You will find the sound to be a nice side effect though. They sound good with a straight exhaust. Mufflers are for cars :sweet
