Not necasarily, if the enigne got to hot, and warped the head it could be a pretty costly fix. Or if his headgasket blew, spewing coolant and he kept running it it could have seized the engine. Or maybe he was looking to upgrade anyway and now this is his chance. Anyway, i am sure you get the point.

There really isnt that much information to be honest. How about:

-yeah of the truck
-which engine did it have
-how bad is the engine
---is he looking to rebuild the current one or do a buildup on a bigger engine
-what kind of power is he looking for and what does he plan on doing with the engine?

Then we might be able to point you in the right direction.

Howdy All,
I guess he decided to drive it until it no longer ran. So yes, initial problem blown head gasket, final problem engine shot. He is looking for a reputable shop to replace the engine with a reman, doesn't matter if ir is a Ford house or "Joe's" Engine shop, just looking for honesty and price.
Thanks,
Craig

Hey Mike,
I forgot to put the year 1999 F-150, XLT 5 Speed 130+K miles on it. No mods to be done, just a stock rebuild. He wants to get rid of it ASAP once it is up and running.
Thanks,
Craig
