Heres one from banks Banks Power | >>DynaFact® Engine Oil Temp Gauge

its the one I have in my truck

and choosy diesel owners know, if it says Banks, it has to be good :lmao

Fummins, I'm NOT picking on you...
checking oil temperature is important
it's a good indicator on how hot it actually is inside the engine vs how much heat is getting transferred to the water jacket..
more on why this is important later..

it just struck me as odd that only Banks would offer a gauge; Banks has a history of "over-enthusiastc" claims..

and we all know, just putting a Banks sticker on your truck nets you 30 more hp... :lmao

under the cheddar curtain
all the gauge manufacturers have ones marked oil temp. who is the gauge whore here, CSIPD? joe has like EVERYTHING gauged.

i would think that you could plumb the gauge in the hole we use for oil bypass supply. or if you have one, put a T in there to screw the temp probe in there.

also, temps are going to be different where ever you plumb the temp sender.

in the end, its not going to be too far off the coolant temp i think.

ps: BAnks anything i thought was good for 50 RWHP. and painting your calipers red or yellow gets you another 10. :p

If not the radiator (very rare on these trucks), then the thermostat is suspect.

Yep.. New T-stat & Rad-cap would be my next move. Then a >REAL< engine coolant temp gauge (to compare the two tempratures). (I wouldn't rely on the Ford gauge much, for any accuracy)
