Elite Diesel Up-Pipe, EGR Pipe Delete

I got this product in today from Elite Diesel.

I just want to share the photos, so others may choose if this part would be beneficial for their 6.0L, that has had EGR cooler problems.

Up-pipe with EGR pipe Delete: This is a replacement uppipe that no longer has the exhaust pipe extension to allow exhaust flow into the EGR cooler. This modification also removes the restrictive scoop found inside most uppipes. This works the same as the EGR plate but improves performance by removing restriction in the exhaust. Pipe comes with 4 new fasteners, nuts, and gasket.

this may shock ya bill, so sit down.

the 6.0 still needs another EGR cooler, so the dealer is gonna warranty it thru ford because it is with the 12/12 warranty. the dealership is actually very good to me, they do good work and are eager to please. they have a gret diesel tech.

this piece is actually the up-pipe piece that connects to the EGR cooler. as you can see, they have cut the neck off that connects to the EGR cooler, and they have also gutted the scoop out of it, so there is no restriction on the exhaust anymore, so in affect, no exhaust will be going thru the EGR cooler anymore.

so the EGR cooler will basically be recirculating within itself, no more hot flashes!!!!!!

the price of the up-pipe is all that i am out of.

no pics, sorry. the truck is at the dealer, inline to get fixed.

this is the up-pipe from the pass. side exhaust, going up to the exhaust housing of the turbo. the OEM up-pipe has a "neck" teeing off of it that connects to the EGR cooler.

this up-pipe from Elite Diesel, has the neck cut off of it, and has been plated over the hole and welded. it also has the scoop inside gutted out, to allow better flow and is not rescrictive like the OEM up-pipe.

since the exhaust up-pipe will no longer be attached to the EGR cooler, no coolant is passed thru it, and thus eliminating the high exhaust temps inside the EGR cooler, whichcan fail under extremely higher than usuall temps.

why arent they blocking off the other side of the pipe...
have they explained whats gonna happen to the computer when
it doenst see the pressure changes when the egr valve changes ?
or how its gonna affect the vgt & ebp ?

You will still have coolant circulating thru the cooler, it just will not have hot exhaust gasses running thru it to the intake. What did they use to block off the EGR cooler with? You cannot just leave it open 'cause when the egr valve opens, pressure will either go out of intake or unfiltered air will be sucked up into the intake thru the open end of the EGR cooler.

yep, you are right, thats why you unplug the EGR valve, it will be closed, and no coolant will be passing thru it all.
