Gonna make a trip to Parkston SD tomorrow, if for some reason my egr valve decides to take a plunge off the deep end is there anything that can be done on the side of the road to keep it going until I can get to a dealership?

Just unplug it as mentioned. Make sure you shut down first - DO NOT unplug with the truck running. Do you know where it's located? (Just checking cause some people don't know).
Some report that thier trucks run better with it unplugged - some like mine do not run better - but if it's running like crap due to the EGR - it will be a ton better unplugged.
