Bush, I was wondering what your ECT and EOT normal temps are?
My ECT going down the freeway is usually about 206?
My Banks PDA monitors both of these and alerst me if the ECT exceeds 220
and if the EOT exceeds 222

I've seen the EOT get to 226 and ECT to 225.

I would guess, that the Banks PDA monitors the same sensors as AE, just not as
many of them?? Does that sound right to you???:thanks

Sorry for the Highjack

when i ran it up hard, on purpose <on my trip back from asheville>
just to see the temps change & confirm they were able to maintain
the right temp differential (between ect & eot)

i saw as high as 206* and my oil temp was consistantly 18-20* higher.

running down the highway...pulling 6k lbs or 2k lbs (empty trailer)
@ 80mph (cruise control set) the ECT was consistant &
steady @ 194-196*.

Sitting in traffic (close to home) i saw 208* & i saw the vari-speed
fan turn on as high as 50% but never anything more than that, the
coolant temp fell back to 198 very quickly after the fan turned on.

everyone is reading the same sensors

if any one de-railed this thread is was probably me...

i was reading in the autoenginuity site that the powerstroke is not an OBDII setup, and additional optional programs are required, is the basic able to read the egr codes

the egr CODE can be read (emmissions have to be w/in the OBDII spec),
the testing of the valve is outside the spec of OBDII.

MOST mfgs are using CAN now...OBDII doesnt provide for much and
the spec is a bit weak...describing little more than the connector.

whether or not our trucks are fully OBDII compliant i couldnt tell you...
theres so many "loop holes" that would allow a mfg to ignore the
"standard" its not funny.

the fan on my truck ? its not electrical to MY knowldege but apparently
there is SOME control of the clutch or at least some monitoring of
the clutch...cause i could watch it w/ my autoenginuity.

the fan clutch itself is electric. I didn't know it was variable though.. I thought it was an all or nothing job, just like the air operated ones on big engines.

dont know anything 'bout proscan...a quick google and reading doesnt
indicate that they have a version to support FORD/CAN network.

i can vouch for the autoenginuity product...im using it on an INFINITY,
GM, Ford & Mazda...can even reprogram PATS keys w/ it :D
