I have a 99 ford f-450 and I have the Edge Evolution hand held programmer. Right now I have it on the first setting (towing) and it runs prety good. Would it be a bad idea to put it to the second setting (race). And also I was wondering if this was normal. When I put the program in I can be driving and when ever I put the clutch in and the motor comes back down to idle the motor sounds like it is surging. Just for a second and then it idles out. It does not do it without the program.
Thanks for the help.

You will love the second setting. I think you will have a grin that will be hard to wipe off when you try it. Don't know about your surging problem.

Yes it is ok to run the second setting. The surging is the injector pressure smoothing out.

You should be good but get a boost and EGT gauge just to be on the safer side when you turn it up. I run the high setting in my superchips when towing but I keep an eye on stuff with my gauges when I start pullin' hills. And man does she ever pull. :D

F-450 HOTSHOT,

Go for it, BUTTTT get gauges a 450 has a deep diff gear and really turns some RPM and the EGT's rise accordingly. Call us if you want we stock the Isspro, DiPricol and Auto Meter's.
