Well it has begun...

After 155k+ and who knows how many times of getting in and out, the leather has finally started to tear. I've kept leather conditioner on it religiously, but sooner or later its gonna give.

So, I know those covers aren't cheap, and im sure the foam would need to be redone as well and I'm just not interested in dumping that kinda money into it.

So:stir I got to looking at it all tonight and noticed that I cant tell a lick of difference between the drivers and passenger's seat. All the controls and whatnot seem to be externally mounted. Is is possible to switch the 2 seats out or am I thinkin too far fetched?

I've never liked leather myself....hot in the summer and cold in the winter.....neither are appealing to my wife when she where her daisy duke shorts:sly. My dads 96 F250 has 640,000 miles on those fabric seats, may be a little faded where he/I slid out but still no tears....and not near as much maintanence. I've got 183,000 on my truck now and luckily no tears...except for one 5" straight cut in the back seat where the sub for my surround sound cut it. I would like the get seat covers to help prolong the life and condition of the leather.

Only problem I'm seeing is making sure to flip the switch upside down...if you mount it on the outside just like it is now. Your arm rest will also be on the wrong side. Not sure if it will fit agaisnt the door with the arm rest...might want to check the clearance bedore you do decide to do this.

yea but then it aint so purdy anymore...

Something I thought about this morning that might be a problem...the tilt, and lumbar...i dont think thats interchangeable.

I know for sure i could remove the cover's of each seat bottom, but itd be easier to just move the whole seat.

Anyone else?

well, the cover's themselves are around $200, and I have no idea what the foam would cost.

I'd be interested to know what someone would charge.

?

I've seen some at walmart that looked pretty decent IMO....color scheme to go along with the tan interior and tight fitting. But I want to get covers that have a matching back seat cover as well.

yea, but i just like the tight fitting oem look, the wally world ones just arent gonna cut it. They would be great to throw on there when you wanna protect them, but beyond that for daily use, im looking for a more polished look.

I'm gonna have to do some more inspecting and see if i can do the swap.
