I buy 75 W 140 Synthetic in 5 gallon buckets and it's $102. That's $5.10 a quart. A good deal, but kinda a pain to work with though.

is it Royal Purple that youre buying ?
that would be the way to go if you could if you could find somone
else that was interested in serving their front & rear diffs (not quite 7quarts
per truck)

Great info per below earlier forum posts

Figured I would add a couple comments / suggestions :)
-During the rear differential fluid change
-Consider upgrading the rear cover to Mag-Hytec
Web link = Mag-Hytec
A great addition in my humble view point
Allows for greater amount of synthetic fluid to be added ( 8 Quarts )
Cooling fins
Dip stick with magnetic tip
Built in rubber gasket into cover
Stainless steels bolts / hardware
Aircraft Aluminum Casting
Great quality workmanship
I processed my order thru Bob R at www.dieselsite.com

-I also plan when I do the front differential preventative maint to replace factory cover with the ARB
Web link = ARB Air Locker Heavy Duty 4x4 Bumpers

Hope this helps a bit

Great day to all

John -

Great suggestions...many here choose to go w/ the 08 alum. fin'd
cover because its 20% of the cost of the mag-hytec.

i really wonder how valuable a dipstick is in any differential cover...

and i wonder how many mag-hytec owners actually take advantage
of the dipstick, increasing the frequency of checking the fluid levels...
most owners never pull the check plug on the STOCK set up.

i cant say ive seen a rear diff do anything but SEEP (at the cover)...unless
the axle seals go bad...and then youve got a NOTICIBLE mess.

I dont know why mag-hytec lists the rubber gasket as a benefit
on a cover that has a drain plug or never needs to be removed...

given the cost of the mag-hytec ($250+) the 2008 ($50) alum. fin'd
cover is a GREAT deal.

I like that Front ARB cover...nice...any idea what its gonna cost ?

I just spoke with one of the ARB reps
-And for a Ford F250 FX4 Model Yr 2006 - Front ARB cover is estimated to price out at $ 150 to $ 160 depending on dealer per ARB Rep
-Visit ARB web site and click on locate dealers for one in your area
-Hope this helps ;tu

I put on the new 08 cover and it looks good. I checked it tonight and I hate to say I think I may have a small leak. No drip has formed but there was a film on the underside. Im going to wipe it off with a rag and see if it comes back. Im gonna be TICKED if it does. I dont want to have to do that all over again.

Well it must have been but I thought I wiped the whole area well. The film was fairly heavy. I wiped it clean last night and checked when I got home tonight and seems ok. I'll check again over the next couple of days but Im thinking (hoping) that it is not leaking.
